Notes on the Bottom Hand

The notes formed on the bottom hand are LowG, LowA, B, C and D. Just lift your fingers enough to sound the note. Avoid taking your fingers a long way from the chanter.

A very important point at this stage is getting the changes between the notes clean without unwanted noises. The eradication of these crossing noises is very important. To aid this I have provided in-between stages which enables the student to achieve good co-ordination to eliminate crossing noises. These are highlighted. They are not meant to represent any actual formed notes. Common crossing noises occur between B and C ,D and E , High G and High A

When doing more complex intermediate stages, the initial stage is fingers off followed by fingers on to compete the correctly formed note. Do not speed up until comfort is achieved. Do not tense up.
