About Iain Morrison

Iain first band was Cumbernauld Calededonia Pipe Band back in the early 1980's Bands he has played in include;

• Kilsyth Thistle(Grade 4)
• BP Grangemouth(Grade 4)
• Strathkelvin(Grade 4)
• Lerwick Legion(Grade 4)
• City of Glasgow(Grade 1)

In the late 1980's he was appointed Pipe Major of Cumbernauld and was the youngest in Scotland at the time. Later he became Pipey of Lerwick Legion for 10 years.

Iain has won numerous prizes for solo piping under eighteen. His present home location(Shetland) prevents him from competing nowadays.

Instead,he has played in folk bands for the last 16 years touring Ireland ,Faroe and Norway to name just a few places.

He has had many tutors. Most notably Kenneth McLean,Dougie Ferguason(Isla) and Tommy Pearston.

He has played for Royalty on numerous occasions including the Holyrood Garden Party.

He is a member of the Royal Scottish Pipers Society.
